Red litmus paper can be used to determine whether a solution is basic. Dip the end of a glass stirring rod into a basic solution and touch the end of the rod to the litmus paper.
A basic solution will turn red litmus paper blue. An acidic or neutral solution will leave the color of red litmus paper unchanged. |
