Blue litmus paper can be used to determine whether a solution is acidic. Dip the end of a glass stirring rod into an acidic solution and touch the end of the rod to the litmus paper.
An acidic solution will turn blue litmus paper red. A basic or neutral solution will leave the color of blue litmus paper unchanged.
